Canadian residents must not already have dental insurance coverage to be eligible. When submitting income tax, the applicant must state whether they have private dental coverage in the tax year.

Applications have already started for older seniors and more are opening in phases based on age groups. Letters will be sent to people who are eligible based on the 2022 income tax year. If you haven't received anything in the mail, you can Call 1-833-537-4342, visit http://www.canada.ca/dental or visit a Service Canada centre in-person.

What happens after I apply for CDCP?
After you apply, Sun Life insurance company will send you an information package including a membership insurance card.

How much does the seniors dental program cover?
The federal program covers 100%, 60% or 40% of dental treatments including dentures. If your family income is less than 70k you are covered 100%. If your family income is $70 000- $79 999 you are covered 60%. If your family income is $80 000-$89 999 you are covered 40%.

What is adjusted family net income?
Your family income is calculated when doing your income tax. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will be able to confirm and send you information about the coverage. It is important your current address is up to date with CRA.

How do I find out my adjusted family net income?
The family income is calculated from your income tax statement,
line 23600 + 23600(of spouse/common law) - line 11700 and 12500(of spouse/common Law) + line 21300 and 23200(of spouse/common law) is your adjusted family net income.

How much will CDCP pay denturists, dental hygienists and dentists?
The program will only pay a specific predetermined price for each treatment set by the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Denturists, dentists, dental hygienists and dental specialists have the option to join the program but are not required.

What is covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
Dentures, fillings, extractions, dental cleanings, exam, x-rays radiographs, root canals and oral surgery.

Can seniors get free dentures in Canada?
The dental program for seniors will cover dentures at 100%, 60% or 40% depending on the prior years family income.

Does the government pay for dentures in Canada?
Starting in May 2024 the federal government through Sun Life insurance will pay for dentures for eligible seniors.

Who is not eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
Currently anyone who already has dental insurance and anyone whose family income is more than $90 000.

When can I apply for the federal dental insurance Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
People can apply on specific dates grouped by age, 87 and above December 2023, 77-86 January 2024, 72-76 February 2024, 70-71 March 2024, 65-69 May 2024, under 18 June 2024, Adults with disability tax credit June 2024, All other eligible 2025.

The Lakeview library  opened  in 1967 and renovated in 2010-2011. This attractive looking library offers a lot of exciting and informative services to the local residents.

Large, prominent windows provide comfortable natural light to the visitors. The Library is located on a quaint residential street that adds to the charm of this small hidden gem.

Even during the lock -down, due to Corona virus outbreak, it provided local residents with lots of social activities online.
Online classes offer discussions about movies and books. There are also classes to learn English, crafts, cooking, poetry, knitting  and much more.
I wish to go there in person soon, to get recommendations from knowledgeable and  friendly staff at the library.

The library collection is not too big but you can always order on line and let them deliver for you to pick up.
Now that we are opening up, I cannot wait to see what kind of social club/classes they will offer in person.

As of June 23, 2021 The city opens up its plan to the public so that everyone can be part of these new changes, recommendation and concerns.

I have a great hope for this building, not only for the use of the facilities but for setting a high standard of how we can create energy efficiency and zero emissions goals. Incorporating solar power buildings are an investment for our future generations.

This two story brick, traditional English countryside estate is showing us how Grace was proud of her family's eighteenth century origins of Yorkshire, England.
She referred to her estate as “Cawthra-Lotten”, because Joseph Cawthra (her great-grandfather) received Lot 10. In 1808AD the 200 Acre land was given as a crown grant, which the house stands on. Grace lived at the Cawthra-Elliot Estate from 1926 until her death in1974.

My favorite spot is the south side of the woodlot, where the the remainder of the wall garden is in Georgian style. The red bricks are still standing among the green rays and make you think how glorious it would had been in centuries ago.
Cawthra Estate was being used for local music school and private events before Covid-19, March 2020. There are not that many visitors at this hidden gem, you can enjoy quiet walks with animals.

Every Sunday, from May till October, there is a great way to enjoy the fresh produces from our local growers!

You can come to the Lakeview farmers market at the parking lot of 1352 Lakeshore East.
At Lakeview farmers' market, you will meet your local producers and support them by enjoying their proud products, what a great way to spend your Sunday morning.
The market hours is 10am till 2pm, there are line up to get in, so get there bit early then you won't  miss out on the popular products.

In my case, I enjoy the walking part as well as shopping summer produce.
Going down to the Lakeshore on Sunday mornings with my market basket is making me excited,  every week you will see new producers in addition to your regular fammers.
A part of the proceeds go directly to support CreativeHub1352 arts, heritage and
environmental public programs

There are so many different vendors and the list keeps growing.
One of my favorite vendors, Kinsip House of Fine Spirits is a farm-based, grain-to-glass distillery.

Their Juniper's Wit Gin is one of my must have!

Lakeview farmers' market supports environmental public programs, bring your own basket and if you can walk there, that will be even better if you live in the Lakeview area.

My last tip is, be there early especially if you would like to get free range hen eggs from the Lady cone Hop Yard, they are committed to produce high-quality locally grown products with a regenerative organic approach.
